Call For Teacher Stories!

Are you a school teacher?  Know one you can forward this to?
—-
Dear Teachers,

We’re a young, scrappy team making a little movie about teaching.  And we’re getting in touch to see if you, teachers, might add your story to our work.

What kind of story?  Stories like that big time success that deep down you’ve been burning to brag about.   Or, just as importantly, a failure - big or small - that you’ve had a chance to get your head around a little and understand what might prevent it in the future.  Or finally, unexpected ways you learned how to be a better teacher.

Who? Young, old, charter, public - heck, even private - we want you! We want to capture your voice, your stories about teaching, as long as you feel you have something to say.

We’re planning a shoot for Monday (the 9th) to capture as many of these stories as we can. Are you interested and available? If you have a story in mind - tell the 30 second version toTeacherTeacherShort@gmail.com. Oh - and please include your phone number so we can get in touch!

Thanks,
Joe & The “Teacher, Teacher” Team

“The last time I checked, Lady Gaga is doing fine with just a year of college.” - Mayor Bloomberg

Great posts up on GothamSchools about the recently released statewide test scores. It’s got to be a tough week for education reformers that had been hoping gains were anything but a steadily lowering bar of proficiency, but not tough enough to justify a remark like the above.  But of course, such is the life of somebody recorded at almost every moment I suppose. Glad that expectations are back on the rise, regardless of jumbled words and messages at the city level.
