Great for barbecues, offices, sneaking into the movies, making other moviegoers jealous, and (subsequently) making new friends with other moviegoers. No special equipment necessary. Habañero plant on roof highly recommended but not essential.

Ingredients

- Large saucepan with COVER, wooden spoon
- Corn for popping
- 1 Habañero pepper
- 1-2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable / corn oil
- Salt

Instructions

1. Seed your pepper — seeds too spicy. Keep in big piece(s) so you can remove from pan later.

2. Add butter & oil to large saucepan over high heat, begin melting, add pepper, stir occassionaly.

3. Once oil is hot & bubbly, add enough popcorn to cover the bottom of the pan, stir.

4. Keep stirring. After about a minute or so get that pepper outta there. Make sure sugar is close at hand.

5. The moment the first kernel pops, throw in your sugar, give a vigorous stir, cover.

6. While the popping frenzy hasn’t ignited yet, slip your spoon in there to stir and get sugar off the bottom of pan.

7. Popping frenzy commences — hold the cover & the pan together tightly with oven mitts and shake the whole thing hard, once every 20 seconds.

8. When the popping frenzy subsides to lazy pops, uncover and pour into a big brownpaper bag. Add some salt, and shake it all out. Be careful — that smokey-spicyness can sting the eyes.

9. Viola, you are ready to eat this spicy-sweet-salty snack.
